Weekly Inspiration “Still I Rise – by Maya Angelou” – Thoughtsnlifeblog

I love this poem my “Maya Angelou – And Still I Rise”.

The words are so powerful and can be used in many contexts. It is a great pick me up, when we need picking up.

I love the entire poem, but I love this the best. Because there are times that people want to break me and keep me down. I listen to this and I rise….

You can find the lyrics to this poem here .

……. Snippet from Maya Angelou poem – And I Still Rise….

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
’Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

….. Snippet from Maya Angelou’s And Still I rise.

I hope you enjoyed this and that you rise.
