
One of our favorite cooking vessels is the cast iron skillet. Cooking in the cast iron really takes a standard stuffed pepper or fillet of salmon to the next level (stay tuned for those recipes). Its no exception that this crispy cajun shrimp is a tasty and simple cast iron meal. I can make this recipe in 15 minutes flat on a weeknight if I’m in a pinch for time. These little swimmers taste great on salads, on top of cauliflower rice, or my personal favorite – taco style in a lettuce wrap (Shrimp Taco Tuesday – yum)!

Crispy Cajun Cast Iron Shrimp
Crunchy, spicy, and packed with flavor. This crispy shrimp dish uses simple ingredients and can be served in so many ways. Try serving these over cauliflower rice or in romaine lettuce boats for a shrimp taco.

olive oil or coconut oil -

tbsp
Cajun seasoning -

tbsp
fresh lemon juice -
1/2
tsp
cayenne pepper (optional) -

pound
uncooked large shrimp shelled and deveined -
1/4
cup
grain free breading mix of choice -
2
tbsp
fresh chopped parsley

Combine oil, cajun seasoning, lemon juice, and cayenee pepper in a large bowl.

Add shrimp and toss to coat.

Refrigerate for 1-2 hours, optional.

Spread primal friendly breading mix (I like this one) on a plate.

Heat large cast iron skillet with 1 tbsp of olive oil.

Lightly roll shrimp in breading mix and immediately add to skillet. Try not ot overcrowd the pan so that the shrimp stay crispy.

Cook the shrimp over meduim high heat until just cooked, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Remove from heat and sprinkle with parsley. Serve over cauliflower rice or make a shrimp taco feast. ENJOY!
